Feature Your Listing: A Step-by-Step Guide
Click on Feature Listings in the Flirt Center of My Account to get started!
1) Choose a Listing: Click on "Place Bid" in the "Your Current Max Bid" column for the listing you'd like to feature.
When deciding which listing to feature, pick the one that will generate the greatest return for you -- you don't want to spend more on featuring your listing than you earn! Although you may feature as many listings as you want, we only allow your highest-ranked Featured Listing to appear on each category page so keep this in mind if you have more than one listing in a particular category.
2) Place Your Bid: Here’s what you’ll see when you place your bid:
A - Your Featured Listing rank is determined by each listing's total combined score. The total combined score is your Maximum Bid amount combined with your listing's Listing Value Score (LVS). The listing with the highest total combined score in a category will achieve the highest rank in Featured Listings for that category; the next highest score will achieve the next highest ranking; and so on. Even if you do not have an active bid, your listing has a Listing Value Score and will appear in Featured Listings among those who are bidding competitively.
B - To determine how much to set for your max bid, review the Featured Listings for your listing category to see what you'll need to spend in order to feature your listing in the position that you want to achieve (e.g. position 1 or position 25).
C - The "Your bid to be here" column shows the current minimum amount that you'll need to bid for each position. When you place or change a bid, you'll be able to see the rank of competitive listings along with the minimum amount that you'll need to bid in order to achieve a particular rank (e.g. position 3) at that moment.
D - Your Maximum Bid is the highest amount you're willing to pay for a Qualified Click. When placing your bid, set a Maximum Bid that you can afford and will place your listing in a position that will maximize your return on investment (ROI). Remember, availability and the bids of your competitors are always changing, so choose a Maximum Bid that seems right for you. The minimum Maximum Bid amount is $0.01.
Remember that no matter what you bid, you'll pay the lowest possible amount for each qualified click.
E - Select “No Expiration” if you want your bid to be active whenever your listing is available. Or set a budget if you want to limit how much you spend on each bid. Your budget must be at least 3 times the amount of your Maximum Bid. For example, if your bid price is $2.00, you must enter a budget amount of at least $6.00. This is to ensure that your bid does not become inactive after just one click.
If you run out of money while your bid is active or your budget has been reached, your bid will become inactive. You'll need to earn more money or add money from your credit card in order to place a new bid.
After you’ve selected either “No Expiration” or have entered your budget, click "Continue."
3) Confirm Your Bid: Review your Maximum Bid, budget amount (if you’ve entered one), and your listing’s position. If you’re satisfied, click “Confirm Bid” to place your bid.
4) Bid Confirmation: Hooray! You now have a bid to feature your listing. Just make sure your listing is available to take calls and it will be placed in the highest possible spot in your listing category.
It may take up to 30 seconds for your listing’s position to update on NiteFlirt.com and up to 5 minutes on 1-800-TO-FLIRT. Please note that your listing’s placement can change when the Maximum Bid amounts and availability of other listings change.
5) Update Bid: To update or cancel an active bid, click on the Feature Listings icon in the Flirt Center again. Then click “Update Bid” for the bid you want to update or cancel!
“How much do I pay?”
When your Featured Listing receives a Qualified Click, you will pay the lowest possible amount for that click -- only one cent more than the cost to place your listing one spot below yours at the time of the click. Your Maximum Bid is the highest amount you are willing to pay and is the most you would ever be charged for a Qualified Click. The amount you actually pay depends on how much it would have cost to place your listing one spot lower than the one it is in when the click takes place. For example:
You've set your Maximum Bid to $0.70 which puts your listing in Position 5. To be in Position 6, however, it would have only cost a Maximum Bid of $0.35. Therefore you will only be charged $.36 for any Qualified Clicks!
Now let’s say the Maximum Bid and availability of other listings change and these changes move your listing up to Position 2. The cost to be in Position 3 is now $0.69 so you will pay $.70 (just 1 cent more than the next lowest position) for Qualified Clicks.
Clicks
We track and report all clicks, both charged and uncharged, on your Featured Listing. A click is recorded when a someone clicks on links in your listing title, listing details, photo, Call Now button, or listing rating in the Featured Listings sort on NiteFlirt.
A click is considered qualified when:
- A customer with valid payment information (e.g. credit card or debit card) clicks on your Featured Listing when you are available to take a call.
- A user clicks on your Featured Listing when you are available to take a call and subsequently adds valid payment information to their account within 24 hours of clicking on your Featured Listing.
A click is not considered qualified when:
- A member clicks on your listing when you are not available to take calls.
- A member clicks on your listing in a sort option other than Featured Listings, including Top Available and Highest Rated.
- A member clicks on the same Featured Listing more than once in a 24-hour period; only one of these clicks will be charged.
- A non-member clicks on your Featured Listing when you're available to take calls but doesn't register with valid payment information within 24 hours of clicking on your Featured Listing.
- A member listens to your listing's greeting when using the Browse by Category option on 1-800-TO-FLIRT.
- A member enters your listing’s extension after dialing 1-800-TO-FLIRT.
- A customer who has had paid transactions with you within the last 30 days clicks on your Featured Listing.
- A blocked customer clicks on your Featured Listing.
- A Flirt clicks on your Featured Listing (unless he or she becomes your customer via call or mail).
- You click on your own Featured Listing.
- A NiteFlirt employee clicks on your Featured Listing.
Note: Your live listings will not receive Featured Listings clicks when your status is set to "Away - Not Taking Calls" (only available listings can be featured). You can, however, be charged for a click while "Away - Not Taking Calls" because some clicks can become qualified, and therefore charged, up to 24 hours after the click took place.

Listing Value Score
Your Featured Listing rank is determined by your Maximum Bid and your Listing Value Score (LVS). LVS is unique for each listing and is made up of several components. The components measure how well your listing performs against others in Featured Listings. Essentially, we apply a score to your listing to measure its value within Featured Listings and show you how the components of each of your listings compare to that of other listings. The higher your LVS, the lower your bid amount will be to feature your listing in a top position!
How do we score the value of a listing? By measuring certain aspects of a listing's performance. We measure how many people click on your listing to learn more about you, how often those that have clicked go on to place a call, buy a mail, or send a tribute, and how well you maintain your relationships with your customers. Please note that, because they are not associated with a listing, Goody Bag sales do not contribute to LVS.
These are the combination of factors that best represent a reasonable measure of listing quality and customer satisfaction:
Click Rate: When someone sees your Featured Listing, how often do they click on it? Click Rate measures just this! An appealing Listing Photo and category-appropriate Title will increase clicks and your Click Rate!
Customer Conversions: When someone clicks on your Featured Listing, do they call you? Buy a Mail? Customer Conversions measures how well you gain customers with Featured Listings. If the Customer Conversions score is low, consider making changes to your listing content, price per minute, and even how you interact with potential customers. If the Customer Conversions score is high, you’re doing great!
Recent Customer Conversions: When you make changes to your listing to improve your Customer Conversions, are these changes making a difference? Recent Customer Conversions will show you how successful those changes have been -- it measures your Customer Conversions over the past several weeks.
Customer Retention: Once someone has become your customer, do they call you again? Buy a Mail or send you a Tribute? Customer Retention measures how well you maintain your relationships with all of your customers, even those who did not find you in Featured Listings.
LVS is not fixed and may change regularly based on recent results. Furthermore, a particular listing's LVS is a relative measure, meaning that changes in the scores of other listings in your listing category may affect your listing's rank. LVS scores are updated periodically throughout the day.
Remember, even if you do not have an active bid, your listing has a Listing Value Score and will appear in Featured Listings among those who are bidding competitively.
Note: You can be very successful on NiteFlirt and still have a low LVS. LVS does not measure your overall site performance nor does it measure how much money you make compared to your peers. LVS is a formula used to measure how valuable your listing is in the Featured Listings sort. Many Flirts run a very successful business on NiteFlirt and find their customers in ways other than Featured Listings. To review your overall site performance, check out Performance Reports!
Featured Listing Results
Featured Listing Results shows you how many Qualified Clicks actually convert into paid transactions and Featured Listings customers. Use Featured Listings Results to understand your performance and maximize your return on investment (ROI; the amount you’ve earned from featuring your listing). For example, as you observe and monitor your listings’ results over time, you might notice things that are working especially well (or not so well). If you find customers aren't responding to changes you've made to a particular listing, edit and try something else. Understanding the effects the changes you make on your listings ultimately comes down to testing, reviewing, and analyzing.
Take your analysis a step further by exporting your results data to a Comma-Separated Values file (‘.csv’ files can be opened using your spreadsheet software, such as Microsoft Excel). We encourage you to export your results because results are only available for the past 6 months.*
Here’s what each results page offers:

Featured Listings Results - Value Score is where you can review each of your listings' Listing Value Score results. These results give you insight into the different components that make up your LVS. And while you can't see the raw number of your score (the actual number isn't relevant), you can see the percentile of how well your listing is performing against others in both the Top Level Category and Subcategory. For example, if you score in the 83rd percentile for Click Rate, your listing is clicked on more often than 82 out of 100 other Featured Listings.
Featured Listings Results - Bids shows detailed information on the performance of each Featured Listings bid that you've placed. Review your bid history as it relates to max bid, charged amounts, and bid statuses.
