When a customer requests a Cam Session, NiteFlirt lets you know right away so you can decide whether to accept or decline the request.
Unlike Live Phone Listings, Cam Sessions do not require a phone call. When a customer requests a Cam Session, the request is delivered directly through NiteFlirt using an onsite notification and, if enabled, a PWA push notification.
Jump to a section: Onsite Cam Notifications | Browser Sound Settings | PWA Push Notifications | Not Getting Cam Notifications?
Onsite Cam Notifications
If you're logged into NiteFlirt when a customer clicks Cam Now on your Cam Listing, an incoming Cam request notification will appear onsite.
The notification shows:
- The customer's Member Name
- The Cam Listing they're requesting
- Your per-minute rate
- Quick access to Customer Details
- Accept and Decline options
The onsite notification also plays a chime to help get your attention when a Cam request comes in. If you're away from your screen, hearing this chime may be the only way you'll know that an onsite Cam request is waiting for you.
Important: To hear the incoming Cam chime, your device volume must be turned up and your browser must be allowed to play sound from NiteFlirt. If browser sound or autoplay is blocked, the Cam request can still appear onscreen, but you won't hear the chime.
Browser Sound Settings
If you can see incoming Cam requests but aren't hearing the notification chime, first make sure your computer or device isn't muted and the correct speakers or audio output device are selected.
You'll also want to make sure your browser is allowed to play sound from NiteFlirt. Follow the steps for the browser you're using below.
Google Chrome
- Open NiteFlirt in Google Chrome.
- Click the Site Settings icon next to the address bar.
- Find Sound and make sure it's set to Allow.
- Refresh NiteFlirt if prompted.
Safari
- Open NiteFlirt in Safari.
- From the Safari menu, select Settings for This Website....
- Find Auto-Play and select Allow All Auto-Play.
- Make sure the NiteFlirt tab and your device aren't muted.
Firefox
- Open NiteFlirt in Firefox.
- Click the permissions icon next to the address bar.
- Find the Autoplay permission.
- Set Autoplay to Allow Audio and Video.
Good to know: Browser settings can vary slightly by browser version and device. If sound is already allowed but you still can't hear the Cam chime, double-check your device volume, browser tab volume, and selected audio output.
PWA Push Notifications
Don't plan on staying in front of NiteFlirt while you're available for Cam? The NiteFlirt Progressive Web App (PWA) can send a push notification to your device when a customer initiates a Cam Session.
To receive these alerts, you'll need to have the NiteFlirt PWA installed and notifications enabled for NiteFlirt on your device.
Want to hear your PWA Push Notification alerts?
Receiving a PWA push notification and hearing its alert sound are controlled separately. To hear a sound when a Cam notification arrives, make sure:
- Sounds are enabled for NiteFlirt notifications in your device's notification settings.
- Your device is able to play notification sounds. Make sure your volume is turned up and your device isn't muted or set to Silent.
Checking Notification Sounds on iPhone
On iPhone, you can check whether sounds are enabled for NiteFlirt:
- Open your iPhone's Settings.
- Tap Notifications.
- Select NiteFlirt.
- Make sure Allow Notifications is turned on.
- Make sure Sounds is also turned on.
You'll also want to make sure your iPhone's volume is turned up and the device isn't set to Silent. Even with Sounds enabled for NiteFlirt, you may not hear the notification chime if your device is silenced.
Don't miss a Cam request!
If you're available for Cam but won't always be watching NiteFlirt in your browser, we recommend using the PWA with push notifications and notification sounds enabled. This gives you an additional way to know when a customer is trying to start a Cam Session.
Checking Notification Sounds on Android
On Android, the exact steps may vary slightly depending on your device, but you can usually check whether sounds are enabled for NiteFlirt by:
- Open your device's Settings.
- Tap Notifications or Apps & notifications.
- Select NiteFlirt.
- Make sure notifications are allowed.
- Check your notification sound settings and make sure NiteFlirt notifications are set to play a sound, rather than Silent.
You'll also want to make sure your device's notification volume is turned up and that your phone isn't muted, set to Silent, or using a mode that prevents notification sounds from playing.
Good to know: Android settings can look different depending on your device and Android version. If you're receiving NiteFlirt push notifications but don't hear the Cam alert, check both the notification sound settings for NiteFlirt and your device's overall sound settings.
Not Getting Cam Notifications?
If customers are trying to Cam with you but you aren't seeing or hearing incoming requests, check the following:
- Make sure your Call Status is ON (Taking Calls).
- Make sure your Cam Listing is set to Accepts Calls.
- If you're relying on the onsite notification, make sure you're logged into NiteFlirt.
- Make sure your browser is allowed to play sound from NiteFlirt.
- Check that your device volume is turned up and the correct audio output is selected.
- If you're using the PWA, make sure notifications are enabled for NiteFlirt in your device settings.
- If you're receiving PWA notifications but don't hear them, make sure Sounds are enabled for NiteFlirt notifications and that your device volume is turned up and your device isn't muted or set to Silent.
